Ending Fossil Fuel Subsidies by reading all about it. Despite many local authorities declaring a climate emergency in 2019 they continue to invest some of their pension funds in coal, oil, and gas. One simple step in support of climate action is the transition away from fossil fuels, and opting to invest in green technologies and projects.
That’s why Divest Tyne & Wear is campaigning to free their local pension fund from fossil fuel investment. As part of their campaign, their new ClimateReads book group has arranged the first reading of ‘Ending Fossil Fuel Subsidies’ by Neil McCulloch. This highly recommended book has vital information on a key COP28 topic, with recommendations for how to campaign for change.
The publishers have agreed to allow the e-book to be used for free.
A Zoom meeting to discuss the book will be held on Friday 26 January 2024 at 7.00pm. If you wish to attend the meeting or join the book group, please contact Helen Murrell on Divest.TW@assembly.org.uk for further information.
