Earth Day is an annual event on 22 April to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on 22 April, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by earthday.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2023 is Invest In Our Planet.
The Good Law Project which campaigns on environmental issues by using the law for a greener, cleaner future writes:
“This International Earth Day we are reflecting on some of our work, both past and present that has the potential to protect sections of the UK’s natural habitat for generations to come. We are proud of how much we’ve achieved, but know there is still so far to go.
“To find out more about some of the landmark work we’re doing to protect our rivers and shorelines from pollution and sewage dumping, and to hold the government to account with regards to their Net Zero strategy, watch this video below.”
The Good Law Project is a United Kingdom based political non-profit company. Founded by Jolyon Maugham, the Good Law Project states that its mission is to achieve change through the law. To find out more about the Good Law Project visit: https://goodlawproject.org/
