In her first announcement as the new Prime Minister, Liz Truss has reversed the moratorium on fracking (see: https://news.sky.com/story/ban-on-fracking-to-be-lifted-as-part-of-liz-trusss-energy-plan-12692646. New PM must act now to support net zero targets

In a bid to limit the rising costs of gas and fossil fuels whilst support the energy transition, the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) and Climate Change Committee (CCC) has written to the new Prime Minister, Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP, advocating the expansion of renewables.

The letter dated 7 September sets out the organisations’ joint positions on topics including energy security, fossil fuels and the role of infrastructure in delivering Net Zero. Continue reading “New PM must act now to support net zero targets”
