Take action – Forests are not fuel

The UK’s single largest carbon emitter and the world’s biggest tree burner, Drax Plc, is planning to hold its Annual General Meeting in Northampton on the day before #EarthDay2021 at 11.30am on 21 April 2021. According to Biofuelwatch Drax Power Station burns pellets made from around 14 million tonnes of trees every year, and much of this wood is sourced from threatened forests in the Southern US, Canada and Estonia.

As well as harming communities, the loss of forests and Drax’s tree burning are making the climate and ecological crises worse. Please help to denounce Drax’s destructive forest burning and celebrate and protect our forests.

Biofuelwatch is planning an online day of action to coincide with the AGM, which will be an easy and fun action that anyone can take part in from home. Tell Drax that our forests are not fuel!
