ACE Food Group are hoping that Settle can become a Fairtrade Community (aka Town) in the not too distant future. This will require support and involvement from Settle Town Council, schools and businesses, event organisers and individuals. Most of the churches are already using Fairtrade goods.
Liz Roodhouse from Fairtrade Skipton will be giving us a presentation and a short film showing how Fairtrade is helping farmers overseas. There will be ample time for questions and a discussion plus Fairtrade goods to purchase.
Yorkshire is the only Fairtrade county in the UK and a Fairtrade Way is being planned. It will run from Bradford, through our area, and then on to Lancaster/Garstang.
To learn more about Fairtrade and why it matters come along to ACE Green Cafe at St John’s Methodist Church, Settle on December 10th from 10.30am.
Refreshments available along with fair trade products for sale.

This month’s Cafe featured Settle Town Councillors who presented their recently agreed Climate and Biodiversity Policy Report. The report was adopted by the Town Council on 1 March and sets out actions they will take to become carbon neutral by 2030 and improve biodiversity of their owned and managed land.
