Let’s Thrive

Melanie Fryer

Thrive is the new community food magazine for Lancaster and North Lancashire. We have tried to cover a range of topics with many contributions including community projects, avoiding waste, regenerative farming, recipes, tales from the past, foraging, helping bees, buying local, seasonal flowers/food and much more. There is also information on Lancaster District Food Poverty Alliance action plan. All this work is part of the Foodfutures’ vision of ‘A thriving local food system that is healthy, resilient and fair’.

The magazine looks at what is already happening on the food scene and was launched on 29th July in Dalton Square, Lancaster as part of the Lancaster Health Festival. Alongside this was the launch of a 10 year community food strategy.

We are hoping to make this magazine quarterly or at least half yearly. The first one was funded and we are now looking for sponsors for future editions.

We welcome feedback at foodfutures@lessuk.org which, so far, has been very encouraging.
