The Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) offers free insulation following recent funding secured by City of York Council. This work includes draft exclusions, wall and loft insulations. The grant targets homes with cold rooms with the aim of making the homes warmer, improving energy efficiency and helping reduce fuel bills. It aims to enable qualifying households with low energy rated properties to apply.
The work is being arranged by Better Homes Yorkshire, on behalf of Craven District Council, with installations of the insulation being carried out by Heat Insulation Ltd.
Eligibility is to support residents with:
* a total household annual income of £30,000 or less
* with Energy Performance Certificate band ratings of D, E, F and G, therefore living in homes with low levels of energy efficiency.
