Nature in Crisis
April 15 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

April’s Green Cafe will be focusing on biodiversity loss.
All over the world animals, insects and plants that used to be abundant are dying out. We can already see loss of Biodiversity locally – every year there are fewer swallows and swifts, while familiar flowers, butterflies and bees are disappearing.
‘Biodiversity’ means the variety of plant and animal life in the world. The more biodiverse an area is, the better it can withstand climate shocks such as storms, floods, and drought.
Find out more about Biodiversity loss, what it means, and what we can do about it in Settle, with speaker Kate Jennings, Head of Sites & Species Policy at the RSPB and Andrew Pease (ACE’s Biodiversity Group lead)
Event timings:
10.30-11am: Cafe and chat over refreshments about topical issues
11am-12.20pm: biodiversity loss presentation
12.20-12.30pm: Final remarks and notices
All welcome. Donations on the door for room hire, appreciated.
