Developing a community-led response to the climate crisis

IPPR North

Join the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) North and partner Scottish Power at this webinar to launch a report ( https://www.ippr.org/research/publications/net-zero-places) on Net zero places and developing a community-led response to the climate crisis,  Monday 7 March between 15:00-16:00 via Zoom.  The transition to net zero will have an impact on all aspects of our lives. To ensure that we deliver a just transition and seize the opportunity, communities must be at the heart of the transition.

This event provides an opportunity to understand what policymakers, businesses, public services and communities themselves can do to create more sustainable and equitable low carbon places.

The event will include a short presentation from Jonathan Webb, senior research fellow at IPPR North, on its latest research on environmental justice and sustainable places. A panel of speakers, including mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, will then give their perspective on net zero places. Following this, you will have the opportunity to pose questions to the speakers.
