A new green deal for our region

Group for Action on Leeds Bradford Airport

The Group for Action on Leeds Bradford Airport invites you to the launch of our new report: ‘A Green New Deal for Leeds City Region: GALBA’s Vision for a Sustainable Local Economy’. The launch event will be held online at 2.00pm on Friday 3 December. Please book your place by using this Eventbrite link.

The Leeds City Region is centred on the City of Leeds and covers northern parts of the former West Riding of Yorkshire. Settle, Craven District and much of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is included in the City Region.

Our vision is for a forward-looking, ambitious and achievable economy that reduces reliance on aviation (and other high carbon industries) and encourages investment in our local communities, whilst addressing the other key challenges we face around transport, energy supply and housing. The research behind the report suggests that nearly 16,000 jobs could be created in Leeds City Region by pursuing such an investment strategy, with nearly double that number in the transition phase.

Alex Sobel MP (Leeds North West) will introduce the meeting. Presentations about the report will be given by representatives of GALBA and Greenhouse Think Tank, who collaborated to produce the report. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion after the presentations. The report will be available on our website from 1.00pm on Friday 3 December where you can also find out more about GALAB: https://www.galba.uk/
